“It makes me want more of you again and again. I fall more in love with you than I’ve ever been. From the moment you wake me up ’til you kiss me goodnight, everything that you do, it makes me want more of you…..”~Chris Stapleton
On a hot summer evening in June I met with Rose and Matt for the engagement pictures at Old Baylor Park and the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence, TX. This place has held a special place in my heart for a very long time. While I was in college, many moons ago, this area was my “getaway” from it all. When life was stressful, I’d head out for this park and just sit and think. When it came time to take my own engagement pictures over 10 years ago, without hesitation this was where we wanted to capture our love. As soon as Rose and Matt told me that Matt was a Texas history teacher, I knew this would also be a special place to take them as well.
We accidentally ended up in the area at the same time as Baylor University’s new student orientation camp. At the end of the session, we found ourselves surrounded by hundreds of young soon-to-be college freshmen who cheered the couple on as they kissed and did all the “couple” things you do for engagement pictures. I love that they laughed it off with a sense of humor and we ended up with some real smiles as a result.
Sometimes I work with couples and I just feel like their happiness is contagious. These two certainly fit in that category. Couples like Rose an Matt remind me of what love should be and the simple happiness of being around someone you love is more than enough to make you smile. To say that I’m excited about their November wedding is an understatement. I absolutely can not wait to capture their big day.
Congrats Rose + Matt!!!
