“Yeah lean on me, forever, I’ll never let you go. I believe in you. We’re better, together, don’t you know. When the world comes tumblin’ down and you stand on shaky ground, reach out, reach out, reach out. If your voice don’t feel strong, let me carry your words along, don’t shout, don’t shout, don’t shout. Yeah, lean on me, forever, and never let me go…..” Anders Osborne “Lean on Me/Believe in You”
I have travelled to New Orleans several times a year since living in the Mississippi Delta. It’s by far my favorite city. I love the culture, the people, the sites, the history, the food, the booze (I could keep going…)…. if I had all the money in the world, I’d own a home here and spend half my year in NOLA. So this year for my 10th wedding anniversary my husband asked me what I wanted to do and without hesitation, I said New Orleans. Going on an adult trip to New Orleans is especially enjoyable to me because I can sleep in, I can drink all day, I can see amazing music on Frenchman, and I can just relax and only worry about myself. So we journeyed there last week and had the best time ever (that’s for another post in the future…).
While I was in New Orleans, I knew I wanted to work one afternoon in City Park. It’s been a dream of mine to shoot under the historic oak trees and photograph the sunshine through the moss with an adventurous couple. So before we took off for our trip, I put the word out that I wanted to work while I was on vacation. Christina messaged me within minutes that she and Annie were interested. I’m so glad that she took my bait because these two were perfect! I had so much fun getting to know them both and they just happen to be celebrating their first wedding anniversary this week. The timing was perfect, they were perfect, the light was magical, and it was the perfect New Orleans experience.
If you’re a couple thinking about getting married in New Orleans, or just want an awesome couple’s session, I’m your person!
