“Hold me close my dear, sing your whispering song softly in my ear and I will sing along. Honey tell me how your love runs true and how
I can always count on you to be there when the bullets fly. I’d run across a river just to hold you tonight……”~Tyler Childers
Jessica & Sterling were married in Alpine, TX beneath the wide, open West Texas sky. As a photographer, you have in your head what would be your dream wedding with your dream clients and I must say this was on my bucket list for a long time. I’ve always had a fondness for wide open spaces. I think that’s why I loved living in the Mississippi Delta so much. And to throw in the scenery around Alpine, TX, you really can’t get much better than that. Give me all the desert weddings y’all!
These two were wed on a family friend’s ranch. The house was set on a mesa overlooking a well known landmark in the area, Cathedral Mountain. During the ceremony a storm started brewing. The late summer sky was filled with beautiful clouds and we all got some relief from the heat with an amazing breeze. After the ceremony, the couple and I rode up another mesa on a Gator in search of the perfect view for their couple’s pictures. It was quite an adventure. I really thought for sure we were going to fall off and spend the night in the hospital. The lightning was flashing all around us, and the clouds painted the sky like only a storm in West Texas can.
I think I could go on and on about this wedding forever but I’m going to have to let the pictures speak for themselves. I’m going to be unconventional and start this picture story with their couple’s pictures because I’m absolutely in love with them. These will adorn my office walls for years to come.
And now for their entire story of their amazing day…..
